Dans un film de 1949, "Passeport pour Pimlico", le quartier de Pimlico, à Londres, découvrait qu'il était une ancienne possession bourguignone et qu'il ne faisait techniquement pas partie du Royaume-Uni. S'ensuivaient une déclaration d'indépendance et d'innombrables quiproquos qui permettaient de dénoncer avec humour la situation bien plus grave du blocus de Berlin.

Ce film à l'esprit anarchiste est par la suite devenu un classique de la culture micronationaliste.

In a 1949 movie, "Passport to Pimlico", this London borough discovered that it was an ancient possession of Burgundy and technically not a part of the United Kingdom. A formal declaration of independence led to numerous quiproquos and a matter to denounce with humour the largely more serious situation caused by the blockade of Berlin.

Thanks to its "anarchist" spirit, this movie later became an "old classic" of the micronational culture.
